Did this as a sketch for the Weekly Sketch challenges on the ImagineFX forums, and thought I'd have a go at colouring it up. This is how it turned out. It was done as a pencil sketch first and scanned in, did the greyscale underlay in Photoshop, then coloured it up in Painter. It's the first time I've used that method, and quite enjoyed doing it that way.

This is really good man. I saw this on your website when I left a comment on your wip for the dragon pic. You should do more stuff like this!! the expression is cool, the face is realistic, and the lighting is there. thumbs up!

I know I love doing this sort of stuff, this started out as a pencil sketch from a random pic I 'webfound'. I'd put it a way and lost the ref, but found it again on my drive a few months later and decided to colour it for practice. Thanks again!

Thanks, I was really pleased with the way it turned out, I did have a photo reference when I was doing the pencil sketch originally. But then I ignored it once I started colouring.
